OVERCOAT" is a rand launched by Ryuhei Oomaru in New York for men’s and women’s. Drawing inspiration from daily life in New York City, the brand offers a full collection that interprets Western tailoring from its own unique perspective.
Oomaru was born in Japan and graduated from Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo in 1997. He worked at Comme des Garçons for their main line before moving to New York in 2006. In 2008, he established this design studio “Oomaru Seisakusho 2" and has since worked as a creative consultant for designers as Thom Browne, Helmut Lang, The Row, and Bode amongst others.Collaborations with artists such as Peter Miles, Jack Webb, Rirkirt Tiravanija, and Richard Kern have been announced through OVERCOAT. Oomaru continues his creatives in both his New York and Tokyo studios.
